Once we have obtained Sponsorship Commitments for this upcoming season we will post more info on the 26' Registration Cost. We are trying to get enough sponsors to lower the cost more than we did last season. We will have more sign-up information available by the end of the first week of April. Once we have all details worked out, we will update here and post the most current info and registration link.
Our organization
The RSYFL objectives and purpose are to promote and maintain physical exercise, physical fitness, and moral well-being of children. Also, to engage, assist, encourage, participate, and teach American Football. Additionally, to create a league for children to learn wellness education, good character, responsibility, accountability, honesty, community service, teamwork, the fundamental of football and cheer, how to deal with adversity and how to turn failure into success. Also, develop positive trained effective mentors (i.e., coaches and other volunteers) that will have positive influences on the lives of our children.

On behalf of the Rowan-Salisbury Youth Football League, we would like to extend an invitation to you and your company to become a partner and sponsor of our youth football program. We are a community youth sports program and volunteer organization whose mission is to provide quality recreation and skill development in the game of football and cheerleading for all youth in Rowan County NC for grades 1st - 6th. Our mission also includes Acquaint the players with the fundamentals of the game. Teach sportsmanship, teamwork and accountability; build character and discipline. Bringing our youth closer together through common interest in sportsmanship and competition. Instill the values of education and importance of behaving at school and home. Encourage the players to maintain satisfactory grades in school and to emphasize the importance of keeping a proper relationship and balance between scholastic and athletic endeavors. One of the programs most important steps in the planning process for a successful year is obtaining local and corporate sponsorships from businesses and organizations like yourself. Through our partnership, we will continue to build our football/cheer program. Sponsorship with the RSYFL is a unique partnering opportunity for businesses and corporations. When sponsoring with us, we will do everything in our power to maximize your business exposure and match your company with a diverse family target audience. We will not have a Spring 26 Season
Fall 26 Season offering 7U/9U/11U
(Our 7U age division will be a 7-on-7)
-Division is based on what age they are as of Aug 31st, 2026.
*For 11U: Can not be 12 before Aug 31st, (only exception is if they will be in 6th grade for the 26/27 school year)* No 7th grader will be allowed to play football in 11U.
PROJECTED DATES FOR FALL 26'-
First Practice- We are hoping to begin practices the last week of July
Equipment Day- Aug 8th *All Football Players are required to attend* Location: TBD
Jamboree- Aug 15th *Cheerleaders will not participate as this is mini scrimmages*
*1st Week Games- Aug 22nd
*2nd Week Games- Aug 29th
Regular Practice week before Labor Day weekend
*No Games on Sept 5th (Labor Day Weekend)
No Practice on Sept 7th, Labor Day (will Practice: Tues/Wed/Thurs)
*3rd Week Games- Sept 12th
*Play-off Game Weekend: Oct 31st
*Super Bowl/Consolation Games- Nov 7th
IMPORTANT INFO: LATE REGISTRATION:(Football: $200/Cheer: $225)
>Age Division is determined by players Birthdate before August 31st, for this current year.
*No Football Player will be placed two ages up. (Ex. A 9-year-old can't be on an 11U Team, they must play on the 9U).
>All of our Coaches, Administrators & Volunteers are Background Checked.
>Multiple Coaches and Board Members are CPR Certified
>No Refunds of any amount will be issued once uniforms are ordered.
>Registration cost is $175 for Football and $200 for Cheer. Registration will close on May 31st.
>Gate fees for Games for Adults/$10, School-aged kids/$5, 5yrs and younger are free
>No outside food or drinks allowed (the local schools we use to play games at use this opportunity to sell concessions to go back to their school, this allows us to use their facilities)
>We are partnering with North Davidson's Youth Football League who will be hosting at least two games at their home field (North Davidson High School).
REGISTRATION FEES COVER:
FOOTBALL>Season custom uniform jersey and pants, standard mouthpiece. (Player will get to keep)
We provide equipment to use during the season. All items MUST be RETURNED at the end of the season, or you will be charged $275.00 to replace the equipment that was provided. By completing the seasons registration, you agree to return the issued equipment back to us or you will be charged penalty/replacement fee of $275.00.
>Helmet & Chin Strap, Shoulder Pads
CHEERLEADING> Season custom uniform top and skirt with bloomers sewn in, long-sleeved crop top (for colder games), bow and pom poms.
ITEMS Your Players Will Need:
**BEFORE YOU GET A UNIFORM EMAIL & TEAM ASSIGNMENT, YOU MUST SUBMIT PROOF OF ADDRESS (piece of mail with child or parents name on it with the correct address listed on registration). We need this ASAP to make rosters. You can bring it to a uniform fitting day to be verified, or you can email it to us @ rowansalisburyyouthfootball@yahoo.com. Please be sure in Subject to put players name and age division. We are trying to be fair league-wide and trying to keep all rosters with sufficient numbers to be able to have enough teams to have multiple games per age division. (If we do not have a team in the district of your high school that your home address is districted for then you will be placed on a nearby area's team roster.)
FOOTBALL>Cleats, Practice Pants, Practice Jersey, Current Sports Physical & Player ID (you can obtain a player ID through nationalsportsid.com) All above items must be given to your coach on first day of practice to be eligible to participate. No Equipment will be issued until all paperwork is received and checked over by the board.
CHEERLEADING>White Cheer Shoes, socks, athletic practice attire, Copy of Current Sports Physical & Childs Birth Certificate (given to Coach at first practice to be eligible to participate).
*Football and Cheer*: Annual Wellness check WILL NOT be accepted. You can ask your doctor for a sports physical at their office, or you can click the link on our league’s website (rsyfl.com) and print one off for your doctor to fill out. This form must stay current for the entire season, if it should run out it is your responsibility to provide us with an updated copy. No original copies should be given to your coach!
PRACTICE SCHEDULE:
Practice schedule for first weeks will be Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday from 6pm-8pm.
Once first official games are played the practices will go down to three days a week (Mon, Tues & Thurs). Practice locations will be determined based on the team your child is assigned to. Once Rosters are made your Head Coach will reach out to you to give you more detailed practice information. (This should be by the weekend of July 25th.)
TEAM COMMUNICATION:
All teams will be issued a group chat on Sports Engine once sign-ups are completed, and rosters are finalized. If you receive an email from Sports Engine please opt-in to messages so that you can ensure you will not miss information that is sent out by us or your coach on your team chat. Once that has been done a coach will be assigned to teams and a chat will be created and active. This will be the way that coaches will communicate with their parents. If more than one parent needs to be added be sure to give your coach the two email and phone numbers that will be to be added during the first week of practice.

Please go and like and follow our leagues Facebook Page (Rowan Salisbury Youth Football League) as this is where we put a lot of league-wide info out during the season and during off-season.
**AGAIN, PLEASE NOTE THE REQUIRED DOCUMENTS TO BE ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE:

-Emailed to us a utility bill with a parent's name on it matching the childs home address on registration
(the above is DUE TO US BEFORE THEY ARE ASSIGNED TO A TEAM)
-Sports Physical (completely filled out by medical physician and in date)
-Player Sports ID (can obtain from Nationalsportsid.com, last checked they were around $12) this replaces child's birth certificate.
